PTO Events and Programs

 Our PTO provides programming and events for students and staff at the school, all funded by family memberships.

Here's a rundown of all that we do!

FUNDRAISING

Membership Support: The PTO's largest funding source, a simple membership donation from your family toward the PTO will finance year round student and staff needs.  The best news - membership does NOT require volunteer time or meeting attendance!  Help us today by becoming a member of the PTO!

Bears Dine Out:  Bears Dine Out brings UA families together - this event is where the students become the servers at a local Upper Arlington restaurant!  This usually occurs in the Winter/Spring of each year.

Restaurant Nights and Grocery Give Back: The PTO will partner with local restaurants to offer an opportunity for you to share a meal with your family, and a portion of the proceeds donate back to the PTO.  Examples are Wendy's Burger Bash days, Kroger shopping rewards programs, and wine fundraisers.  These occur throughout the year.

EVENTS AND PROGRAMS

Mini Grants: Mini Grants are funds distributed to staff (students can also apply for mini grant funding) to support unique staff needs throughout the year.  Examples are funding for field trips, student lunches, special projects, or material goods to improve classrooms like whiteboards or computer programs.  Mini Grants can be granted throughout the course of the fiscal year.

Scholarships: At the end of each school year, two seniors can apply for the Kip Greenhill Spirit Award and Pat Stewart Citizenship Award, which are $1000 scholarships respectively. 

Staff Appreciation: Throughout the year, the PTO shows our staff how much we care by providing lunches and dinners for conference days, and during National Teacher Appreciation Week, a special luncheon is provided.

Beartique: The Beartique provides supplies for students in need - food, clothing, hygiene items - all these are available at the Beartique to support those who might need a little extra care.  Interested in learning more?  Reach out, and you can donate earmarked funds to directly benefit the Beartique.

Student and Staff Raffles:  Who doesn't love winning gift cards?!  Student Raffles are done throughout the year in conjunction with the Kickin' It Live kiddos to award UA Bears with a little pick me up.  Staff Raffles are facilitated by the Principal and benefit the staff members at the school.

Food Food Food:  From the New Student Lunch, to Senior Pizza - there's something for every student at UA.  Throughout the year we take care of the kids by bringing in Finals Snacks (hard to study when you're hungry!), Freshmen doughnuts on their first day to calm the nerves of getting in the building, and cookies for the kids during the year.
